Royal College of Anaesthetists gives support to Barema Professional Qualification

The Royal College of Anaesthetists (RCoA) has given their formal support for the Barema Professional Qualification.

After thorough evaluation of what the qualification entails, including attendance of the latest training day, RCoA gave the following statement:

"The Royal College of Anaesthetists welcomes the development of the Barema Professional Qualification in Anaesthetics, Critical Care & Cardio-Respiratory Care which supports the training needs of medical device company representatives working in hospital clinical areas.

This qualification delivered in partnership with HCS demonstrates a commitment to raising standards and supports best practice in helping ensure that company representatives are properly trained for the benefit of patient safety."

Anyone who has gained their Barema qualification can now to refer to RCoA's positive assessment of the course, alongside the endorsement of the Association of Anaesthetists of Great Britain and Ireland.
